Who is AM Rope Access & Training Ltd?

AM Rope Access and Training specialises in rope access and working at height training; we offer a range of rope based services such as window cleaning, inspection, cable installation and consultancy.  In addition, we can offer a range of working at height training services.  We ensure that we always work to the highest of safety standards, whilst ensuring that the clients’ needs are met by ensuring that the appropriate skills and experiences are applied to the project.

My name is Adam Mason, and I am the Director of AM Rope Access and Training.

I have spent the whole of my adult life around climbing, abseiling and high ropes in one capacity or another: after 5 years of working in the leisure sector I decided to transfer my skills to the industrial sector.

In 2007, I gained my first IRATA ticket, and gained my stripes working as a window cleaner, predominantly in the North East, but occasionally as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Southampton.  After several months, a few rotations of the UK and a few hundred hours experience, I left the world of window cleaning and began to diversify my skills.  I spent a few years working on the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, had the occasional trip to Pinewood Studios, and started to enter into the world of working at height training.

In 2009, my work took me into wind energy (before the days of GWO) and I spent 18 months working on and maintaining wind turbines in the UK, Ireland and France.

I was lucky enough, during the latter part of 2010 to find myself working on the London Olympics, and this was a contract that I worked on until the Games began in July 2012.

Following this, work took me to the Middle East (an area of the world where I had already done a few onshore petrochemical jobs over the years in Saudi Arabia and Qatar) and I worked for a company in Qatar where I looked after the Rope Access Division, ensuring that they adhered to IRATA guidelines, helped them to become IRATA accredited and began training IRATA courses (an experience in the middle of the desert).  In addition to training, I supported the company in obtaining and pricing for tenders, as well as supervision of operational jobs on both onshore and offshore oil and gas installations.

Upon returning to the UK in 2014, and after spending 7 years building hours, experience across a range of industry sectors, as well as progressing up the IRATA  levels, I have continued to build my portfolio of experience in both operations and training.  I have spent nearly 6 years building my training experience to include the telecoms industry; IRATA; working at height and rescue; and GWO rescue course: as well as working operationally in glazing, telecoms, surveys, roofing, pointing repair, and cable installations to name but a few.

I bring with me to AM Rope Access and Training a lifetime of experience, a desire for excellence, an unmitigated sense of professionalism, and the want to continue and grow.

I see it as my duty as your Rope Access/ Working at Height or training provider to ensure that your needs are met whilst maintaining the highest level of safety.  I will never promise the world, but I will try my best to ensure that your vision is fulfilled.
